One Comment
Thanks again for hosting DwD on Wednesday. Good session overall – as I said in my checkout remarks – “I’d never conceived of personal development as an exercise in design” before… :-)
One thought occurred to me at the end of the session… perhaps as an idea for a future DwD…
The session focused on tasks and activities which help one gain the personal understanding of ones current situation to allow one to start the (re)design exercise related to authentically aligning ones purpose and passion.
But… as a meta-design question… there must have been alternative ways of designing such dialogues to achieve the same ends; or alternatives which would have been better for people with specific types of challenges (perhaps those with mental health challenges like depression for whom I suspect Wednesday’s approach would have been very very difficult for them to engage with).
Might it be possible to have a DwD about “the meta-design of personal development design” – very much as David Ing did with his session in January focused on broader dialogs? Such a session would explore the pros and cons of the alternatives ways of designing personal redesign processes. In this context the approach presented by Vanessa would be but one possibility.
Just a thought…
